Tupelo National Battlefield / Natchez Trace Parkway

The battlefield is smaller than a square block in the city of Tupelo. It was the site of an important battle of the civil war won by the union army that led to the fall of the south. It is one of many stops along the Natchez Trace Parkway run by the National Park service. I went to the visitor center and hiked part of the Blackland Prairie section of the scenic trail, but I was fighting darkness. I am willing to bet this is prettier when the trees have leaves
