This was my favorite forest of the three I have now been to in Alabama. Tall trees, green undergrowth and a lack of garbage on the ground. The only issue I had was my GPS is not fond of the forest service roads and tended to get me lost. I tried to find the trail to Cheaha falls which I found on my way out, too late to hike it. I hiked part of Turnipseed trail and what I think was a former logging road. The only person I saw was a camper along side the road next to a creek. I saw a deer and a family of turkeys
