The park is spread around the town which is the oldest permanent community in Missouri. The settlers were French colonists so the house names are distinctive. The visitor center was supposed to be open, but they closed early for inclement weather. I could not take any tours inside the houses. The walking tour was nice including the oldest building (1790 Green Tree Tavern), gardens and many houses. There was even a surprise in the garden of Jean Baptiste Valle, a wandering skunk! The inclement weather ended up being very windy when I was walking around town and later massive thunderstorms and a tornado about 9 miles from my hotel.
