Piscataway is also known as Moyoan for the native American tribes in the area. They mostly were integrated with colonialists, moved to find friendlier neighbors or killed off. The tribe was not officially recognized until 2012. The park also has colonial period replica buildings and a farm complete with pigs, sheep, fowl and cattle. I hiked most of the park including the colonial farm loop, bluebird and persimmon trails. The bluebird trail has numerous birdhouses to entice bluebirds to nest.
