This had surprisingly nice trails for a BLM run monument, so well kept that it is super popular for walkers. It also had the trash and dog poop associated with popular trails. Only part of the land is available to the public as a large chunk still belongs to the US Army. I walked several trails including 1, 30, 31, 72, old reservation, oil well and station one. I was also on the Juan Bautista de Anza Camino national historic trail. The lichen hanging from the oak trees was really cool but the balls of cotton from the cottonwoods was not (my allergies). Wildlife included a spooked deer, tiny lizard and enormous beetle. I think the beetle was larger than the lizard.
