Minuteman National Historical Park

Mar. 17, 2026

The park follows Battle Road which was the location of the first battles of the Revolutionary Road. It contains skirmish sites such as the Old North Bridge and where Paul Revere was captured by the British on his way to Concord. Another alarm rider made it to the city to warn the colonists who gathered to attack the British soldiers. It is amazing to think of how few people were actually involved in the Revolutionary War that decided the future of the United States. The original Old Manse house is still standing next to where the shots were fired. The house later became a residence for writers and philosophers such as Emerson, McAdams and Hawthorne with frequent guest Thoreau.
