I was worried about the potential for rain, so I showed up at dawn surprising several rabbits on the road. It sprinkled off and on but no heavy rain as I was not prepared for a flash flood. No trail markers and few road signs in another BLM monument. I found the trail to Whitney Pocket via map and had a great view surrounded by mountains. Finding Devil’s Throat took some back tracking and luck. It is a sinkhole over 100 feet deep. The area is beautiful in winter. It screams Heat Stroke any other time of year.
