El Yunque National Forest

The only tropical rainforest in the US National Forest system. It is definitely unique with huge stands of bamboo and palm plants. I took the Angelito trail to a river that has a swimming hole. There were about 25 people there, but most were perched on rocks. A few people were wading which made me the lone swimmer in the murky water. It was cool to swim up to the small rapids and then float with the current under hanging vines. The swim was worth the hike.
