Custer Gall

Custer - Gallatin National Forest

Apr. 13, 2026

It was nice to be back in the mountains however, I was feeling light headed as it was at 6800 ft. I hiked to Pine Creek Falls and a huge shout out goes to the Forest Service who cleared most of the downed trees across the trail so early in the season. I only had to crawl over or under about 10 logs. There must have been a huge storm as there were hundreds of large trees uprooted or broken off. The falls were quite pretty and the hike was nice along the creek. The only bad part was the road in the campground which was full of massive potholes.
