The trees were still in their naked winter mode, so it was a bit barren. It was a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon that brought out the mass hordes. I barely found a parking spot for Dark Hollow Falls which ended up being a steep trail to a mediocre waterfall. The park is narrow along the crest of the Blue Ridge mountains. I drove the middle and southern sections along Skyline Drive. My last stop was Black Rock Summit and followed the trail through a cool rock landslide and part of the Appalachian trail. This park is going on my list to come back to so I can see the northern half, preferably on a cool fall day.
