There have been so many western movies filmed here, I had to stop by for the loop drive. The drive is really rough, so they have open air trucks with seats in the back for those that show up in lower clearance cars. My rented SUV did fine and only scrapped bottom twice. I asked my son if he had found a new religion as he kept exclaiming “Oh my god” and “Jesus” on the drive due to the massive potholes. The large rock monuments are cool. There are local venders at about eight pull outs and in the visitor center. One vendor had garlic butter fry bread, which was delicious. The most popular area was just outside the monument on the hillside where the iconic Forest Gump running scene was filmed.
