Wupatki National Monument

The ground is a stark contrast of deep red hills and almost black soil with sagebrush and grasses. The red sandstone was used by the locals for building pueblos. There are several in the area with the largest behind the visitor center. It has many multi-level dwellings, center round gathering area and a ballcourt that was rebuilt from rubble in the 1950s. I also went to another pueblo called the Citadel that had a fantastic view of the entire area.
