On the winter solstice, I went hiking all day. This was the first stop for some morning hikes at Echo Canyon. Very cool rock formations that reminded me of Pinnacles National Park. They were formed from fallen ash from a nearby ancient volcano. Erosion has caused pillars and balancing rocks. I lost track of how rocks looked like they were ready to fall. I would not want to be here during an earthquake. I also stopped at Massai Point for a quick hike. Great vantage point that you can see mountains and valleys all around. Apparently, there are coati in the area, but I did not see anything except hawks and deer.
