Organ Mountains / Desert Peaks National Monument

Run by the BLM, this monument includes four areas surrounding the city of Las Cruces, NM. The main trail through Prehistoric Trackways leads in and out of the NW section (Desert Peaks). I went to Dripping Springs which is in the SE section (Organ Mountains). The springs lived up to the name, it was barely dripping into a man made reservoir. Nearby are the crumbling ruins of what used to be a 32-room high end resort in the late 1800s. It was nice to see views of Las Cruces from the mountains on either side on the same day.
